Flagstone State School’s new school captains are ready to take on their extra responsibilities and are set to have grand plans for the upcoming school year.
Captains Bridie Inder and Grace Munroe will be assisted by vice-captains Lily Niemerg and Tyler Dargarville.
The four captains have been working together to find their legacy project, something their team will be remembered for by younger students.
However before finalising their own project, the four leaders have been working with the sporting house captains bring a school charity project to life.
Each sporting house will have one term to raise funds for their chosen charity and at the end of the year, the sports house with the most funds raised will have the bragging rights.
Captains Grace Munroe and Bridie Inder said they both wanted to be good role models for students while also handling their new set of responsibilities.
“It’s just going to be so good to get the opportunity to help out our school,” Grace said.
“I really like getting up in front of everyone and running the assemblies,” Bridie said.
Vice-captain Lily Niemerg said she was excited to have younger students look up to her.
Deputy principal Rachael Moloney said the students were already thinking about making an impact with their legacy project.
“Each fortnight they meet with me and we work on what they can bring to the school through their projects,” she said.
“This team have a goal to be seen and be known, so they are working on their visibility.
“The captains have gone to visit the prep classes and they made sure they introduced themselves to parents during the first days back.
“Flagstone State School are very happy to have very active captains with good thinking skills.”
Flagstone State School also inducted the sporting house captains, band captains, ushers, monitors, playground leaders and student representatives at their recent leadership ceremony.
