The first round of the Australian Supercross Championships at Jimboomba X Stadium will now be without star American rider Davi Millsaps but will instead feature another American star in Justin Brayton.
KTM racer Millsaps was forced to withdraw from competing at the Jimboomba track after injuring his wrist at the final round of the Canadian MX nationals recently.
After spending some down time after the Canadian series concluded, Millsaps recently returned to riding.
Unfortunately the 2012 and 2013 AMA Supercross Championship runner up re-jarred his wrist and upon further checks and scans has been forced to rest up for the coming weeks.
While organisers are disappointed to lose a rider of Millsaps calibre they are confident they have a more than solid replacement in Brayton who is well regarded in the spot and finished 8th in this year’s Monster energy AMA Supercross Championship.
Brayton will line up against the likes American Will Hahn, reigning champion Dan Reardon, Todd Waters, Kade Mosig and recently crowd MX champion Dean Ferris, among many other talented Australian riders.
Brayton last raced in Australia in 2010.
The opening round of the 2016 Australian supercross Championship takes place on the September 17 at Jimboomba before heading to Toowoomba Queensland, Adelaide SA, Avalon Vic and then the series finale in Sydney, NSW
