A 29-YEAR-OLD man has been taken into custody following a series of incidents including a car stolen at gunpoint in Boronia Heights.
Police will allege the man stole a bread truck from a Birkdale service station about 2.30am.
The truck was later dumped and the man, armed with a shotgun, approached two houses in Warana Court, Boronia Heights.
Police will allege he ran from the first when a dog started to bark, but bashed the door at the second house to gain entry.
He allegedly demanded keys from the residents before fleeing in their silver sedan.
Two hours later a Borallon resident was allegedly threatened at gunpoint after the stolen car was crashed into a fence.
The Borollan car later collided with a coal train parked across the tracks of a level crossing on Cattos Road, Helidon.
Police said the man left the crash scene and fled to a nearby unoccupied house.
He was arrested as he attempted to leave on a stolen motorcycle.
A small fire that had been started in a farming shed at the resident was extinguished by emergency services.
Police said a shotgun was found in the utility at the Helidon crash scene.
Investigations are continuing.
