STAFF of Eagleboys Jimboomba are breathing a sigh of relief after learning that their store was not among those that abruptly shut their doors last week after Australia's third-largest pizza chain's head office went into voluntary administration.
Employee Tara Vos, who has been working at the Cusack Lane pizza store since November, said she heard of the collapse of Eagleboys on the radio.
“I was terrified, I thought I was going to lose my job,” she said.
Owner of the Jimboomba Eagleboys, Sanjay Kundnani said he had been surprised to receive an email on Monday, July 18, informing him that the head office had called in administrator SV Partners, and that the business was to be sold.
“Only 12 stores, which were under the corporation have shut, the other 120 Eagleboys stores are run by franchisees and are all still open,” he said.
Hillcrest Eagleboys was among the stores affected.
“The staff has approached me for work,” Mr Kundnani said.
He employs up to 18 staff.
