Friendships and camaraderie is what brings the blokes from the Greenbank RSL Sub Branch Inc Men’s Shed together, which is why they are inviting everyone around for open day.
The shed will be open to young and old, on May 28, to stick their heads in and have a sticky beak at what the men have been up to for the last year.
Shed leader John Robinson said they not only want to show people around the shed, they want to create public awareness for men’s health.
“Some of our members felt a bit lost after retirement,” he said.
“Sometimes we change their lives as well.
“We want to make everyone more aware that we are here.
“We would love to get new members.”
Greenbank Men’s Shed has about 100 members from various backgrounds who all love a good yarn and a cuppa.
At the open day there will be children’s toys available for purchase, as well as other shed made wooden items.
All money made from the day goes back into to paying for equipment and other items.
The members will also have leather work, artworks and photographs on show during the day.
It is free to join the Men’s Shed and members can be involved in wood work, acrylic painting, leather work, computers and photography.
Families are welcome to come along and join in the fun.
The shed is at 3/15 Corporate Place, Hillcrest and will be opened from 8.30am on May 28 for the open day.
