Greenbank horse rider Katelyn Burgess has come in overall first place in Tamborine Pony Club’s jumping equitation competition.
Burgess scored 80.13 per cent from both her tests.
Jumping equitation is done over two courses and judges both the style of horse and rider over the showjumping fences, with judges giving score sheets on each round to help the riders improve.
In overall jumping equitation second place was Warwick rider Grace McLaughlan with 74.11 per cent and in third Redlands rider Alyse O’Regan with 65 per cent.
Riders came from near and far to compete in the clubs first jumping equitation and official and unofficial showjumping competitions.
The two day event was the last chance to obtain a qualifying score for the upcoming PCAQ State Championships.
The top three overall winners in official showjumping were Runcorn rider Scarlett Guest-Carver and Southport rider Emily Stewart, both with 29 points out of a possible 30 and Nerang rider Madison Gunther with 27.
The club also ran an unofficial 400mm height class to encourage less experienced riders, which allowed nine riders to achieve personal bests, with the youngest being 7-years-old.
