Fuel will be unavailable at Shell Coles Express Jimboomba as the store and site will be closing for three months from February 1.
Next week the site will close to undergo necessary improvements which require the current driveway on the Mount Lindesay Highway to be dug up and new pipes to be laid to ensure fuel supply can continue.
A Coles Express spokesperson told the Times that staff members are being redeployed to other Coles Express sites while the Jimboomba works are completed to enable them to stay employed with the company.
“Viva Energy Australia has an ongoing programme to keep its extensive service station network, which includes Shell Coles Express sites, looking fresh,” the spokesperson said.
“This programme includes investment in site improvements such as upgrades to price boards, canopies, pumps and underground fuel storage.
“The work at Shell Coles Express Jimboomba is part of this programme.”
“It is expected to take three months to complete and safety requirements dictate that site will be closed during this time.”
The Shell Coles Express Jimboomba store is expected to reopen on April 22.
