FRIENDS and family will meet on Sunday evening to pay tribute to deceased schoolgirl Tiahleigh Palmer.
A candlelight vigil is being held at Havenbah Park, across the road from the Marsden State High School, at 6pm.
Messages of support have been pouring in on the RIP Tiahleigh Palmer Facebook page.
“No one should have to go through this, no one has a right to take another's life! My heart absolutely breaks for Tia and her family!” wrote one follower.
Another person wrote: “What would bring someone to take a innocent child from her loved ones? How do the people that cared so much for her move forward? When will the death penalty be the only option to stop this sick hatred of killing sprees? RIP Tiahleigh Palmer. A beautiful soul crossed the rainbow bridge.”
The 12-year-old schoolgirl went missing on October 30, before her body was found in the Pimpama River six days later.
Tiahleigh’s death is being treated as a homicide investigation and police are continuing to search for her pink backpack and school uniform to try and determine how she died.
