A NEW service which aims to help people find volunteer positions is set to open in Jimboomba.
Volunteering Services Australia (VSA) is hosting a morning tea at its launch at Able Australia Jimboomba Caddies on Monday, June 30.
It will be the first opening of a branch of the newly-founded VSA and its business development manager, Richard Patterson, said anyone interested in volunteering was welcome to come to the morning tea.
"We look forward to working with the local community and encourage volunteers and community organisations from Jimboomba and surrounding regions to come to our morning tea and see what we have to offer," he said.
"We hope by opening the centre the local communities will benefit enormously by the contribution of volunteers within the region."
VSA is an initiative of Volunteering Gold Coast, Australia's largest volunteer and referral centre.
Volunteer jobs up for recruitment so far in the Jimboomba area include administration, drivers, booking transport, kitchen staff and volunteer co-ordinator.
The morning tea launch will be on June 30 from 11am to 11.45am.
The VSA Jimboomba office is at 19 South Street and is open from 9.30am to 3pm every Monday.
