ELITE supercross racers from Australia and the USA performed 30 foot jumps in the lead up to round one of the Australian Supercross Championship in Jimboomba.
World number five Supercross racer and defending Australian 2017 Supercross champion, Justin Brayton, from the USA, performed on the Jimboomba X Stadium with seven of the best racers in the world.
Springwood Supercross racer Jackson Richardson, 23, said he has pulled out all the stops to perform well in the five round championship.
“My preperation has been good. I have done everything I can to be ready and look forward to see how it pans out,” he said.
“Supercross is a really cool spectacle. The fans get really close to the track and it feels like they are right there.”
Wilson Todd, 20, from Cairns, placed second in the 2017 Supercross Championship in the SX2 class.
“I’m not here to get second again. I want to go out and try my best,” he said.
“I’d like to think I’m strong at everything...I’m a professional so I practice five to six times a week and also cycle and go to the gym five to six times a week.”
North Carolina supercross racer, Jacob Hayes, 24, said he was ready to test his skills in Australia for the first time.
“I have been excited about coming to Australia. I have tried to come for a couple of years now but all the stars just wouldn’t align,” he said.
“Now I am here and I just want to get my feet wet and see where my speed is.”
Doors open for round one of the Australian Supercross Championship at Jimboomba from 10am.
Main races run from 2.30pm to 6pm at Jimboomba X Stadium.
