It may be a bit tarnished, but to Lois Blinco of Logan Village, her gold watch is worth a great deal.
It not only holds great sentiment, but is part of the folk lore of the family, an Australian watch purchased as it was in Canada.
Ms Blinco said she bought the watch in Canada in 2009.when she was there for her father’s funeral.
“I went shopping in Calgary. My niece knew the store manage of Michael Hill so we stopped in to say hello. I spotted the watch and bought. We thought it was funny that I came all the way to Canada to buy a watch from an Australian company,” she said.
Ms Blinco is keen to have her watch returned, having lost it somewhere in the Jimboomba shopping precinct on Saturday, November 18.
“ I don't know when or where I lost it. I was at the Jimboomba markets in the morning. I picked up a cake and rolls from Logan Village Bakery. I checked at the other houses I was at. Jimboomba markets haven’t had one turned in,” she said.
She said the watch was gold and starting to tarnish. It has a face about the size of 20 cent piece with mother of pearls. Anyone who has seen it or picked it up is invited to phone Ms Blinco on 0419 788 858.
