BROWNS Plains police are calling on motorists to turn the screws on crime by installing one-way screws to their car registration plates.
Volunteer members of QPS will be offering a free service at Bunnings, Browns Plains on Thursday, November 16 from 9am to 11am.
Browns Plains police station officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Michael Leafe said using one-way screws on registration plates could help prevent them from being stolen and used in criminal offences.
“The Queensland Police Service encourages the use of one-way screws to deter thieves,” he said.

Browns Plains police beat officer-in-charge Senior Constable Mike Berry said police had also been working with businesses to reduce crime.
They met with retailers at Grand Plaza Shopping Centre to provide advice on addressing stealing, counterfeit currency and fraud offences and tips on dealing with people suspected of committing those types of offences.
“Browns Plains police officers are happy to discuss crime prevention strategies to any business or community member to reduce crime, and importantly to strengthen relationships,” Senior Constable Berry said.
