Jimboomba Bushrangers senior side hosted Bethania Gold on Saturday at Glen Logan Park. Jimboomba won the toss and chose to bat first.
Jimboomba stuck to good line and length bowling to take care of Bethania.
After a shaky start of 3/49 after seven overs, opener David Parry and Kelton Maguire steadied the innings to take Jimboomba to 82 for the fourth wicket.
Phil Hayes, 35, put on a further 67 runs with Kelton Maguire to have Jimboomba 5/151 after 23 overs. In form vice-captain Joe Plater went to the crease and upped the run rate for Jimboomba in a time shortened match of 32 overs per side.
Joe Plater remained unbeaten 42 not out, along with Kelton Maguire 96 not out, to have Jimboomba finish at 5/244.
Bethania, knowing that rain could be a factor in deciding the game, chose to go for the runs from the start.
But Jimboomba stuck to good line and length bowling through Will Goss 1/18 and Ben Nash 2/10 to have Bethania 3/24 after seven overs.
The second change bowlers for Jimboomba continued to remove Bethania wickets regularly, dismissing the side for 54 in the 19th over.
Heath Mutch was the pick of the Jimboomba bowlers finishing with 3/6 off five overs and ably supported by Ben Holley 1/5 off four overs.
