Jimboomba’s Stihl Shop/Action Pumps/Pool Pro will celebrate 20 years of being in business on December 2.

The locally owned family business will mark the milestone with an in-store celebration and manager Garry Harvey said the whole community was welcome to come down and join in.

“We are having a big birthday celebration and sale day,” he said.

“Basically we are just giving back to all our loyal customers over the last 20 years.”

Mr Harvey said the key to the success and longevity of the business had been its local focus.

“We employ all locals and it is my family’s business.

My grandparents started it in 1997, and it is still family-owned.

Mr Harvey said he ran the Stihl shop side and his father the pump and pool shop aspect of the business.

“Obviously being locals we like to shop locally ourselves and I think we provide a pretty good service as it is,” he said.

“Being family owned we try to give back where we can.”

Mr Harvey said there would be $15,000 worth of prizes given away at their birthday celebration on December 2.

“To get in the draw for the prizes you have to spend $50 in-store in any of the three businesses and fill out the entry form in the store.

“On the day we have free face painting for kids, a slushy machine and free sausage sizzle and demos on all the gear,” he said.

Jimboomba Times is running a Shop Local campaign from November 15 to December 6.
