Canterbury College have celebrated their 30th anniversary year with a fun fair day.
The fair was to raise funds to go back into school building projects including a new pool.
Despite rain closing the show at 6pm, the fireworks were still able to go ahead.
Event organiser Ashleigh Dann said the day had been excellent.
“Unfortunately we weren’t able to run Canterbury’s Got Talent or see Chris Tamwoy perform,” she said.
“But we hope to be able to host the talent show at a later date and get Chris back to work with our students.
“We squished as much as possible in as we could before the rain started.”
Ms Dann said the goal has been to make the day bigger and better than in the past.
“I would say we achieved that,” she said.
“It was so busy, there would have had to been at least 2000 come through the gates.
“We had 30 market stalls and seven food vendors as well as our wonderful canteen.
“The show and shine boasted 12 vehicles too.”
Ms Dann said the dunk tank and the student stalls had all received high praise.
“It was great to get everyone in the school community involved,” she said.
“There was so much work behind the scenes and contributions from volunteers, staff, sponsors and students, it was just great.”
Marketing manager Nancy Fadden said the day had been great for community engagement.
“All this work rolls back into the school community to provide excellent facilities for our families,” she said.
