HORSES on a Munruben property have escaped after someone cut a fence to access a neighbouring park.
Owner Lucy McDonald said she was relieved to have found her four horses nearby and unharmed.
“They were let out onto Chambers Flat Road, which could have killed the horses or someone else,” she said.
Ms McDonald said the fence was cut to gain access by car to the park.
“They cut our fence, drove through our property and went through our back gates into the park.”
She said the incident occurred sometime after 6pm on Monday night.
“We fed the horses in the morning (on Tuesday) and didn’t notice the fence was damaged,” Ms McDonald said.
On Tuesday afternoon they found the horses outside the property.
“I remembered afterwards I had seen lights in the park (on Monday night) and wondered what had been going on.”
After finding the damage, Ms McDonald said she found car tracks through her property leading to a fire pit in the park.
A frustrated Ms McDonald said those responsible had damaged the fence to avoid leaving their car outside and walking through the park.
