The release of the Australian Tax Office’s latest superannuation figures are a stark reminder for residents.
Figures have shown there are about 29,000 unclaimed super accounts in Forde worth more than $105 million.
There are
many ways people can lose contact with their superannuation, including changing
jobs, moving homes, or not updating their details.
I encourage everyone to log onto the ATO website to check if they have any unclaimed superannuation.
Seniors Expo
More than 400 people attended the eighth annual Forde Seniors’ Expo at Canterbury College on September 19. It was a great opportunity for local seniors to learn more about local products, programs and services.
Energy policy dominated the agenda at the Expo, with several questions asked about the issue during our Q&A session.
It was a good opportunity to outline the proactive steps the Government is taking with regards to energy policy, including securing customer-focussed agreements from energy retailers, stopping networks gaming the system and introducing tough new regulations in the gas sector.
The Turnbull Government remains committed to lowering electricity for families and businesses. To easily compare energy deals relevant to you, just grab a recent power bill and visit the Government’s comparison website: www.energymadeeasy.gov.au
