A Browns Plains police officer has been awarded the Logan District neighbourhood watch Police Liaison Officer.
Constable Natalie Wilson won her award at this year’s Queensland Neighbourhood Watch Conference.
Area Coordinator for Forestdale NHW Jocelyn Marentis received the Logan District NHW Community Member of the Year award.
Browns Plains police station officer in charge Senior Sergeant Michael Leafe said Constable Wilson had been nominated due to her commitment and dedication to the Hillcrest NHW, while Mrs Marentis was a driving force behind a very successful team.
“Neighbourhood Watch is very successful in the Browns Plains Division and its the strong relationships we have built with the community over a period of time that go a long way to stopping crime,” he said.
The event was held at the Beenleigh Events Centre on October 7.
A Neighbourhood Watch Queensland spokesperson said police officers and watch members from all corners of the state met to share stories, learn new tricks and to hear the various presenters.
The spokesperson added that a key take back from the conference was strategies for social media management.
The Hillcrest NHW AGM will be held on Sunday, October 22 at 4pm, Cresta Vista, Peverell Street, Hillcrest.
