Rising star Annerly Poulos will play in the Canberra junior international semi-final on Wednesday as players from around the country set their sights in capital success.
Poulos beat Tayla Whitehouse 6-4 7-6 to advance to the semi-finals as she chases a title at home.
Poulos' charge is part of a junior series in the capital, which includes the Australian Claycourt Championships at Lyneham from Friday.
The national championships will see 128 of the top under-12 and under-14 players compete for valuable Australian ranking points in their respective age groups.
The claycourt event will coincide with the inaugural Canberra wheelchair tennis international, which started earlier this week.
"Canberra has a rich sporting heritage so it's fitting Tennis ACT plays host to a range of national and international tennis tournaments and we are excited to deliver these events at our state-of-the-art facilities," said Tennis ACT boss Kim Kachel.
