The Gungahlin Bulls say they're ready to end three years of Canberra junior rugby league heartbreak when they chase grand final redemption on Sunday.
The under-17s Bulls girls will be one of 34 teams playing for premiership glory at Seiffert Oval this weekend.
But no one knows grand final pain better than the Bulls, who have fallen at the final hurdle in the past three years.
The Bulls were undefeated in the regular season but it's understandable coach Sharleen Coomber and her team are not getting too far ahead of themselves.
"Anything can happen," Coomber said. "The girls know not to take this game for granted just because we have been undefeated, grand finals are different games all together."
Gungahlin beat grand final rivals the Goulburn Stockmen 42-22 in a semi-final and will be hoping to repeat the result again this week.
Despite winning two weeks ago, Coomber is wary of the Goulburn team and knows her girls will have to be at their very best if they are to break their grand final hoodoo.
"They are a very good side. They have a few talented players in their squad so we will need our whole 15 to work together to get the job done," Coomber said.
The Bulls boast three players who were a part of the first ACT team to win the national oz-tag league title and Coomber is hoping those girls can use their big game experience to break the team's premiership drought.
"The girls will obviously have their nerves beforehand but I know the oz tag girls who have played in those big games thrive on it. They like that pressure and can hopefully lead the way," Coomber said.
The first of the 17 grand finals will kick off at 9am on Saturday. The Gungahlin girls will have to wait till 4.45pm Sunday for their chance to end their grand final losing streak.
