Beaudesert MP Jon Krause is conducting an online survey to identify which areas of the Mount Lindesay Highway should be upgraded first to improve road safety and transport options.
“I’ve been fighting for the Government to put a plan in place to improve the Mount Lindesay Highway,” Mr Krause said.
“But we can’t improve the whole highway at the same time because when roadworks are underway we expect delays and congestion, which isn’t something we want to happen up and down the whole stretch,” he said.
“I’m asking people to have their say about where we should start so I can keep on working for a better Mount Lindesay Highway.”
Mr Krause said there were several upgrade options available, involving new lanes, service roads and better intersections.
Potential upgrades include:
- Eight kilometres of service road or duplication from Rosia Road down to North MacLean Bridge
- Duplication of the North MacLean Bridge
- Four kilometres of service road duplication works between North MacLean bridge and Camp Cable Road
- Road duplication or upgrade of service road and interchanges in the three kilometre stretch between Camp Cable Road and South Street at Jimboomba
- Upgrades to sections of the Mount Lindesay Highway between Jimboomba and Beaudesert
- Improvements to the Mount Lindesay Highway between Beaudesert and the New South Wales border.
