Inaugural AFLW premiership-winning coach Bec Goddard has made a habit of winning and she's on the verge of being crowned football's woman of the year.
The Adelaide Crows coach has been nominated for the AFL's football woman of the year award in the wake of a whirlwind 12 months.
Goddard was a trailblazer for women's football in Canberra and guided the Crows to their historic AFLW flag when they beat the Brisbane Lions by six points.
She was the driving force behind the undefeated Allies under 18s in the national girls championships.
Goddard almost claimed a trifecta of trophies to cap off the most remarkable year in her football career when she led the Allies in the inaugural AFLW State of Origin clash.
But Goddard admits the nomination was "a bit of a surprise" despite her impressive coaching resume.
"It is a great honour because so many amazing women have won it before me," Goddard said.
"Daisy Pearce won it last year, Jan Cooper the year before that, Michelle Cowan has won it in the past too. There's some really great women to be in the company of."
Goddard joked just getting to the awards night on Thursday will be a little win in itself given the massive week she has ahead of her.
Goddard will be present at her first Brownlow Medal event on Monday night, and laughed she hopes she doesn't roll an ankle on the red carpet.
She'll back up on Tuesday night at the AFL Coaches Association awards on Tuesday and an AFL grand final party on Wednesday.
As if it wasn't enough, she'll jet straight to the United Kingdom to speak at the AFL Europe grand final luncheon following Thursday's football woman of the year awards.
"You don't really think about this part of the season when you're in it," Goddard said.
"We won the grand final and I straight away started thinking about what we could to do better and what we were going to do the following year.
"Now to come to September and be invited to all of these amazing awards and reflect on the year that was is really exciting."
North Melbourne football operations manager and president of VFL Women's club Melbourne University Laura Kane has also been nominated.
AFL Victoria's VFLW operations manager Jess Smith and the Western Australia Football Commission's female football coordinator Allana Dickie join commentator and journalist Sam Lane in the list of nominees.
All five nominees have played a huge role in the "unbelievable" growth of women's football and winning the award would be the perfect way for Goddard to cap off a remarkable year.
"I think just having the opportunity in the first place is great," Goddard said.
"We're now starting to be in a position with women in football where we don't need to be grateful anymore, we are able to win jobs on our own merits and I think that is really exciting."
The award will be presented at a function run by the Essendon football club on September 28.
