Maddison Roberts, Paige Burt and Sienna Jones, all of Jimboomba were recently chosen for the South Coast Softball side, playing recently for the State carnival.
Maddison said she was “excited and proud” to be able to play at this level.
”I have only played for fun and I enjoy it so I might start playing for a club now. My advice for other girls wanting to play softball is to just do it. It is really fun. It is a great way to meet new friends and a lot of people can play it,” she said.
The Year 5 Hills International College student said she had enjoyed getting to know other team members including Sienna and Paige who were both in Year 6 at Jimboomba State School.
“There are so many different positions like catcher, pitcher and fielder. Also, you always get a turn to bat. Sienna made the team last year also and I know she loves it. Even if you strike out when you bat, you get another turn. Everyone is so encouraging and supportive. We have really cool coaches for South Coast. They teach us a lot about the game and also how to be a team,” Maddison said.
