POLAIR has captured video footage of a vehicle travelling at high speed though parts of Logan yesterday.
A Queensland Police Service spokesperson said the purple utility was seen being driven through red lights and on the wrong side of the road before it crashed into a roadworks site.
Two teenagers, a 15-year-old Woodridge boy and an 18-year-old man, were charged with a string of offences in relation to the matter.
The spokesperson said it would be alleged the car, which was stolen from a Park Ridge property on Monday, September 18 was located by POLAIR about 12.30pm the following day after the driver failed to stop for police in Calamvale.
“POLAIR continued to monitor the ute as it travelled onto Illaweena Street in Stretton before losing control near a roadworks zone, crashing through temporary fencing and into heavy machinery,” the police spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said the two teenagers were taken into custody by police after the car became stuck in soft road base.
The 15-year-old was charged with both dangerous operation and unlawful use of a motor vehicle, driving without a driver’s licence, one count each of burglary and stealing, along with possession of dangerous drugs and utensils.
The 18-year-old man was charged with four counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, burglary and possession of utensils.
