Logan and Scenic Rim residents who attended the Highway to Hell meeting on Saturday expressed disappointment at a lack of solid plans put forward by MPs and candidates of the Logan, Scenic Rim (Beaudesert) and Jordan electorates.
At the meeting, each MP and candidate was given five minutes to make their case for the highway, rail, transport and infrastructure.
They were also each asked to address environmental concerns regarding development.

Jimboomba’s Bill Haggard said the meeting had been nothing but “a talk fest”.
“We need an action plan from somebody,” he said.
“Those pollies love getting up and saying stuff but where is the real action?
“People keep dying and still nothing gets done.”
Cedar Grove’s Ken Ridout told Jimboomba Times after the meeting he was fed up that there was no accountability from any level of government.
“Anyone can get up there and say what they are going to do, but who knows what they’ll actually do?” he said.
“We keep getting knee jerk reactions and I really don’t have any confidence in anyone anymore.”
Liberal-National Party
Member for Beaudesert Jon Krause said his plan would be to start from the north of Jimboomba and work south to fix current points of congestion, such as North Maclean and Camp Cable Road. “We need a single point of contact at the Department (of Main Roads) that is only working on the Mount Lindesay Highway who will deliver outcomes on the road,” he said.
A statement from Logan LNP candidate Gloria Vicario said she would put forward a formal submission to the Shadow Minister of Transport and Main Roads about the state of the highway.
ALP
Member for Logan Linus Power said he had money locked in the budget for the North Maclean Safety Improvement project on the Mount Lindesay Highway.
“I will continue to get real projects onto the budgets,” he said.
Independent
Candidate for Jordan Steve Hodgson said if elected he would work with neighbouring MPs to create a plan that put everyone on the same page. “I want to look at a plan for the whole region, get things costed and then have that list to prioritise and work off,” he said.
One Nation
Candidate for Logan Scott Bannan said that nothing was being done for the area.
“Our party is the only one to say we will put $400 million toward the highway,” he said. “We need to start pumping those four lanes out and then get the feds to help pay for a bridge.”
