The Logan and Scenic Rim communities will be prohibited from lighting fires on Thursday, September 14 due to a total fire ban.
The Queensland Fire and Emergency services have banned all fires from being lit between 12.01am and 11.59pm.
Jimboomba Fire Station Captain Bernie Savage said it was paramount that residents listened to the warning from the QFES.
“Exemptions do apply, including fires withing properly constructed barbecues as long as they are not left unattended and fires for the disposal of animal carcasses or for commercial necessity as long as permitted by the Chief Fire Warden,” he said.
“We also suggest people use their power tools, lawn mowers and mechanical slashers with extreme care.”
Ipswich, Somerset, Lockyer and Gold Coast local government areas are also on the total fire ban list.
Fire permits were cancelled in parts of south-east Queensland from Friday, September 8 as the bushfire risk climbed due to continued hot and dry weather conditions.
