Jimboomba Police Station officer in charge acting Senior Sergeant Adrian Burns said police would be focusing on distraction related offences throughout the month of September.
“Distractions include looking at mobile phone offences, inattention, failing to give way, u-turns at traffic lights, following other cars too closely, and offences at red lights and stop signs,” he said.
Distraction and inattention offences are a part of the Queensland Police Service’s fatal five campaign, which is used regularly throughout the year.
The statewide campaign also focuses on speeding, drink and drug driving, failure to wear a seat belt and driving while fatigued.
