Logan Village Music and Heritage Festival

You are invited to enjoy at family day on the green this weekend as the annual Logan Village Music and Heritage Festival kicks off for its fifth year.
The free event is expected to draw a crowd of thousands on Sunday.
Encouraging residents to get along, organising committee member Wendy Duke said the event is about bringing the Logan Village community together.
“Logan Village is the oldest settlement in Logan City, and we’ve laid claim to that,” Mrs Duke said.
“The festival is our way of coming together as a community to celebrate this heritage, as well as to showcase our local talent and give people the chance to come together for a friendly, family day out.”

This year attendees will be treated to a plethora of musical choice across three live music stages – the School Stage, Band Stand Stage and Truck Stage.
The School and Band Stand Stages kick off with performances from 9am by Tahlia Stevenson and the official event opening respectively. Throughout the day you can hear bands including the Logan Beaudesert Country Music Club, Twist of Blue, Krazy Horse, the Scott Douglas Band, Loose Ends, Lobeau, Logan Village Junior Choir, Forever Road and Chester Trio.
You are welcome to bring a chair or blanket and park yourself by one of the stages for the day. From there you get get out and explore everything else the festival offers.
There will be food stalls, a bar and markets stalls to pick up a trinket or two, along with displays by the Village Rockers, Old McDonalds Farm, face painting for the and heritage displays harkening back to Logan Village’s past, including a special letter press.
There will also be plenty of kids rides offering great value for money for families. Ride armbands are $15 on the day, or $12 if pre-purchased from Bendigo Bank Logan Village.
The festival will then round off the day with a performance by Forever Road at 3.20pm on the Truck Stage.
This year’s event is expected to be bigger than ever with the decision to run in conjunction with the Tailpipe Awareness Car, Bike and Truck Show.
The show will run alongside the festival in Logan Village Park.
Entry to the show is by gold coin donation, with the charity event raising money for Bowel Cancer Australia and to assist a local bowel cancer patient.
