Logan Village petition
WE thank the Jimboomba Times for highlighting the need for our state government to resolve the traffic congestion through and north of Logan Village.
We also thank the over 1200 residents who have signed the Logan Village Road congestion petition, so far.
We certainly appreciated the community support for this petition, as well as the many good ideas provided.
It reinforces the point that the state could deliver better outcomes by actually consulting with our community and council to develop an overall transport plan supporting the rapid population growth around the village.
This petition is sponsored by state Member for Logan, Linus Power, and will be lodged soon.
However, numbers count and there is still time for interested parties to sign the paper version of the petition at Taylor and Cook estate agency or the Logan Village Community Bank on Wharf Street, Logan Village.
For the online version, find petition 2778-17 at Queensland e-petitions.

Rail worries
I WAS reading an article recently in the Jimboomba Times regarding what the Australian Rail Track Corporation is proposing.
We have little or no information on what is going to be done for the residents that live along the track.
Our quality of life here will be no more – we could not possibly live here with 45 double-stacked trains a day, 3.7 kilometres long, every 8 minutes. The noise would be unbearable, as would the soot and pollution, not to mention the vibration.
I would like to know if they intend to put a big soundproof barrier up, or a tunnel along the residential strips.
I hear of the meetings when it’s too late, but from what I’ve heard after the fact, they don't seem to divulge too much, or as little as possible. This track runs right at the back of my home, almost in my backyard, close to my back door. With what they are proposing, my home will be worth nothing, no one in their right mind could or would live here. We only moved here in April, 2015 and sadly we have just finished renovating.

AS this is a federal government initiative, Scott Buchholz needs to offer more than just a "contact ARTC directly" as I am yet to see "an extensive community consultation process”. This person is supposed to be our federal representative but is always MIA from our section of his electorate.
