Wildlife warrior

FOR over 35 years I have used Teviot Road and thought how wonderful it was to have the dam on the corner of Greenbank Road. There's nothing else like it on public display in our area. It's an aesthetically pleasing icon of the way of life people wanted when moving to the area, and a wildlife haven. I was absolutely stunned to read that it would be filled and made into a housing area. It seems that the council and the developers have made the decision to obliterate this lovely area, which could have been a local park, or just left as a great part of our local history. Please don't think the general population believes that most of the wildlife will be "relocated" – obviously only a small proportion will be. I'm surprised how much this has affected me; I'm saddened every time I turn the corner into Greenbank Road.
