A NOVEMBER sentencing date has been set down for the foster mother of Brisbane schoolgirl Tiahleigh Palmer.
Julene Thorburn, 55, faced Beenleigh Magistrates Court for a brief mention on Thursday, August 17, in preparation for a sentence that will be handed down on November 3, 2017.
Mrs Thorburn had earlier pleaded guilty to one count of perjury and one count of perverting the course of justice, and will make a further brief appearance before the court on September 14.
Tiahleigh Palmer disappeared on October 30, 2015, days before her body was discovered on the banks of the Pimpama River on the Gold Coast.
Rick Thorburn, 56, husband of Julene Thorburn, has been charged with Tiahleigh’s murder.
Their son Joshua Thorburn was jailed in July for one count of perverting the course of justice and perjury during the 11-month police investigation that led to Rick Thorburn’s murder charge.
