Move over Raiders lime, there's a new milk in town.
Choc mint is the new official Canberra Raiders' flavoured milk and marks an extension of their must-win battle against the Penrith Panthers at Canberra Stadium on Sunday.
There'll also be a milk war raging off the field, with Canberra Milk to give away 8000 bottles of the new flavour at Sunday's game, which the Green Machine needs to win to keep their finals hopes alive.
Canberra Milk managing director David Tyack said the game would act as a massive launch party for their new flavour.
They're foundation sponsors of the Raiders and held an official tasting session involving players, officials and members at the Southern Cross Club in May with the choc mint flavour winning the battle of the taste buds.
Five members from the Gregan-Larkham stand also have the chance to have their 2018 memberships paid for if they're caught drinking flavoured milk.
"On Sunday we're treating it as a launch party for Raiders choc mint, giving it a bit of a flavour-milk war, given the Raiders are playing the Panthers who are sponsored by Oak," Mr Tyack said.
"We're quite keen to revitalise Canberra's love for the Raiders through the Raiders choc mint on Sunday. We're giving away 8000 free 500ml bottles."
The new flavour was launched on Thursday after Fairfax Media revealed former Raiders captain Terry Campese had laid down the challenge for current skipper Jarrod Croker to emulate his iconic bath-of-milk photo from four years ago.
Mr Tyack said the Canberra captain was open to the idea.
"I had dinner with Terry and Jarrod last week and there was a bit of table banter around, 'Mate, I did it and you should too'," he said.
"I think Jarrod's open to it, he's just got to find the right time."
