A NEW one-stop shop for the Logan Enhancement Project is now open for residents seeking information about the $512 million infrastructure project.
The community is being encouraged to drop by the LEP visitor information centre after it officially opened recently.
Member for Logan Linus Power said he was pleased the project would unlock the congested Logan Motorway interchanges at Wembley Road and the Mount Lindsay Highway/Beaudesert Road, while also improving safety and reducing travel times.
“This upgrade will mean people in my electorate can spend less time on the road, and more time with their family and friends,” Mr Power said.
Member for Algester Leeanne Enoch also attended the grand opening and called the centre a “one-stop shop for project news and information”.
“With members of the Transurban project team on hand during business hours, locals now have the opportunity to get their questions answered quickly and in person,” she said.
According to Transurban Queensland group general manager Wes Ballantine, roadworks were now under way in earnest.
“All lanes on the motorway will remain open during peak periods, with most work undertaken at night or on the weekends when traffic volumes are lower,” he said.
“Construction began in June and will take about two years to complete.”
