A CAR show described as ‘the car show to surpass all car shows’ is heading to Beenleigh in September, with the aim of raising funds for the work of Autism Queensland.
An initiative of the Mustang Owners Club of Australia (Queensland), the Cool Classics and Hot Wheels Car Show will be hosted by Logan City Council at Logan River Parklands on Sunday, September 10.
According to committee representative Jean Vincent, organising the event has been extremely hard work.
“But we can’t wait to see the park filled with stunning cars polished to a mirror finish and to witness excited spectators enjoying the show,” she told the Times this week.

“Planning commenced in February 2017, with Logan City Council marketing and parks departments assisting and guiding MOCA to ensure a professional and quality event is delivered that caters to the whole family.
“This event will attract participants from all parts of Queensland as well as some from interstate.”
Display cars
According to Mrs Vincent, the event will feature classic Mustangs from 1964 to the latest 2017 models.
“However, it’s not all about Mustangs, as over 40 other car clubs have been invited to display their finest classics and performance cars,” she said.
“All display cars will be welcomed, whether through a club or individual.
“Around 350 display cars and 1000 spectators are expected throughout the day.”
Awards
MOCA Queensland vice president Les Nye said the committee hoped the younger generation would be inspired by the diverse range of classic and inspiration cars on display.
“They are the next generation to keep our classics alive and on the road.”
A wide variety of trophies will be presented, including awards for all display cars, Rock’n’Roll dancers and dress competitors, he said.
Major sponsors will be selecting the winners and runners up for most of the trophies. The Mustang Concours cars will be judged by a team of experienced Concours judges.
In addition to the huge variety of display cars, trade stalls, Rock’n’Roll dancing and dress competition and food and beverages, there will be activities for children including face painting and a mobile animal petting zoo.
Mustang Motorsport, which takes new Mustangs and turns them into ‘super iconic Mustangs’, will have display cars and representatives available; Q Ford will have a selection of new Mustangs, and there will be a couple of Q Ford representatives available to show interested parties the many attributes of the new Ford Mustang.
This event is proudly supporting Autism Queensland.
