The Logan Village Falcons under 12s secured the Premier’s Plate as the top team for the season with a hard fought 1-nil win over second placed Annerley on Saturday.
The game was played with intensity and nerves as the two top teams played for top spot.
Both teams defended well and the teamwork the Falcons displayed was impressive.
The defence was led by Jack Morley with Luke Bobermein and Will Wiltshire combining well, pressuring Annerley all day and clearing the ball all game.
The midfield worked hard and it was an even game with both teams continually attacking. Kash Talora and Ben Havers worked hard in midfield with Jack Watson, Kye Huth and Donia Halabi.
After some good teamwork and passing they sent Harry Lederhose forward, who scored for the Falcons to give them a 1-nil lead in the first half, scoring the only goal of the game.
There were opportunities in the second half to score for both teams and the Falcons’ attitude was first-class. They worked hard as a team to stop Annerley from scoring in a tense second half.
The Falcons have two games to go and are training hard getting ready for the finals.

Round 16 was all about the Falcons on the weekend with a home ground match against the Capalaba Bulldogs.
The game plan was set and it was simple: bring home the win.
The first goal was scored in the fourth minute by Timothy Angus, who then scored again in the 19th minute, with Blaize Longden setting up an impressive pass allowing Timothy to execute a perfect header into goal.
The half-time scoreboard was at 2-nil to the Falcons.
The momentum ramped up in the second half with the Falcons continuing to display great teamwork, skill and drive to take home the win.
With the team powering on to score three more goals and keep the Bulldogs scoreless, the 5-nil victory was all theirs.
Timothy Angus not only scored four of the five goals, he also scored player of the match.

With only a few weeks left in the season, the Logan Village Falcons under 8s White team are looking to end on a high note playing a great game against Teviot Downs under 8 Panther Cubs on Saturday.
Dylan Saron scored the first goal of the game, which has always been a promising indicator in the team’s previous victories. However, Teviot Downs were not daunted by this and were able to equalise the score before half-time.
With some long distance kicking and well-timed passes by the defence players, made up of Jett O’Callaghan, Dane Norris and Zane Skiller, the Falcons were able to keep the ball out of Teviot Down’s possession for much of the game, contributing to their win.
Jett’s outstanding performance also earned him his third player of the day award for the season.
At half-time the scores were still equal, but in the second half, with some great attack work by our first goal scorer and assisted by Lincoln Jeffries, Kayden Moulds was able to get in a second goal to take the team into the lead.
The awesome back defence, by Madeline Watson and Zach Little along with goalkeeper, Kevin Wegener, allowed the Logan Village Falcons to prevent Teviot Downs Panther Cubs from scoring any further goals.
Another nail-biting, but well-earned victory for the team.
