FROM primary school to Prime Minister, how can we create strong pathways to power for women?
The question might be a tricky one, but the answer could prove life changing for up to 10 Australian teenage girls picked for the Country to Canberra leadership program.
The national competition, now in its fourth year, is aimed at helping outstanding teenage girls from rural areas travel to Canberra for leadership and public speaking training.
Winners of the “power trip” also tour Parliament House and meet with female politicians and chief executives while there.

The call out is now on to find high school-aged girls from across Australia for this year’s trip in December.
To enter the Country to Canberra competition, girls interested must submit a 2-minute video or 400 words answering the question: “From primary school to Prime Minister, how can we create strong pathways to power for women?”.
Canberra to Country CEO Hannah Wandel said the experience helped young women broaden their experiences.
"From Julie Bishop to Tanya Plibersek, our past Queensland winners have met inspiring leaders, built confidence, and have gone on to make an incredible impact in their local communities.
“We want to be a microphone for the voices of young, bright future-leaders."
