Jimboomba’s Relay for Life is less than three months away and the committee are urging teams to get together now and register.
RFL will be held at Hills International College on October 7 and 8, in an 18-hour baton style run or walk.
Jimboomba RFL chairperson Jane Haylock said there were 44 teams already registered.
“We really want people to be involved in this community focused event,” she said.
“It is a great social event but we also want to spread the message of education as well.”

Ms Haylock said she would love to see at least 65 teams register this year.
“We are on track but we still want people to find a team and get on board,” she said.
“You can have as many as you’d like, but we’d recommend 10 to 15 people.”
Cancer Council Queensland CEO Chris McMillan said all funds raised from Relay For Life support Cancer Council’s vital work in cancer research, prevention programs and support services.
“We currently have around 310 participants registered, but need many more participants to get involved and show they care,” she said.
“We are throwing out a challenge to businesses, gyms, health clubs and sport teams from Jimboomba and the surrounding areas to lead the way by registering a team.
“Form a fitness team or unite with workout buddies and help us fight back against cancer, while encouraging healthy lifestyles in your community.
“Registration is $30 per person, or $40 in the last week prior to Relay For Life.”
Jimboomba’s RFL committee will host a sign-on day at Rotary Park, Jimboomba, from 9am until 12noon, on September 2.
