Logan Village resident Chyrel Pridham is concerned about the increase to congestion on Waterford-Tamborine Road with road works set to start in August.
In a July statement released by the Department of Transport and Main Roads the $40 million partnership project would be under construction until early 2019.
The road works are to widen Waterford-Tamborine Road to four lanes between Anzac Avenue and Hotz Road and traffic signals placed at the intersections of Anzac Avenue, Stockleigh Road, Pioneer Drive and Hotz Road.
New signalised emergency access will also be installed for the Fire and State Emergency Services.
The TMR statement warns motorists to allow more time on their journeys as there will be lane closures and increased congestion during the project.
Road woes
Ms Pridham said she was frustrated with the state of congestion currently and feared the worst for when the road work really began.
“They put in some of the slower speed zones already and we have already been stuck in traffic and that was on a Sunday,” she said.

“I just feel so sorry for the people who are coming south from the city during the week as the traffic already backs up to Stegemann Road.
“Yarrabilba is moving quickly and the road works need to too.”
Ms Pridham said she would like to see all the road works, including the roundabout removal at North Street, happen all at once.
“If we are stopping traffic we may as well do it all together since we are going to have to deal with it for more than a year,” she said.
“I would like to see if all these signals will all be synchronised or not.
“If they are then we might have some sort of solution.”
