Relentless pressure held the Yeronga Devils scoreless as the Jimboomba Redbacks under 15 girls won 94-nil. From the first ball up the Redbacks kicked into gear and kept up their intensity. Yeronga came out and played a hard, physical game and tested the backline setup, but an inspirational performance by the defence ensured the midfielders and forwards had plenty of time with the ball, racking up 29 scoring shots. As always, the goals were shared by many with Olivia Vidoni tallying up four goals, two each to Marni Balmforth and Josii Hargreaves, and singles to Phoebe Balmforth, Jesica Draper, Millie Fergus, Alyssa McKenna and Paris Slater. Standouts were Steff Pottinger, Millie Fergus, Lana VanHeerden and Naomi Ginn, first gamer Lillian Burkin was also a thrill to watch.
Under 13s
The Redbacks fought gallantly for three-and-a-half quarters before losing to the Sandgate Hawks. The ball remained mostly in the Redbacks’ end in the first quarter, however, the girls were not able to convert possessions into goals. Grace Parkinson kicked a behind and the quarter finished 0-1-1 to 0. The low scoring continued in the second quarter with Teagan Dare just missing the goals, scoring a behind. There were exciting tackles by Summer Balmforth and Ila Streeter, strong shepherds by Phoebe Pottinger and great defence by Dakota Ivanisevic and Naomi Ginn. The half-time score was 0-2-2 to 0. In the third quarter, the Hawks scored a couple of goals which stole the Redbacks’ momentum. Teagan Dare scored another behind with the quarter finishing 0-3-3 to 2-1-13. The Redbacks ran out of legs in the last quarter with the final score 0-3-3 to 4-4-28. Ayva Stamatopoulos played well in her first game. Best players were Teagan Dare, Annabel Anderson and Dakota Ivanisevic.
Under 12s
A return clash against Coorparoo at Coorparoo on Sunday morning started with a tight 7 -6 first quarter, before the score blew out to 38-12 at half-time. The second half was a Redbacks resurgence, led by Owen Maguire, Keoni Dawes, Seth Dickerson and Jarrett Wilson, with waves of offensive play that cut the margin to 16 points at three-quarter time and resulted in a close loss by just three points. Scoring goals for the team where Cooper Manning, Owen Maguire, Jarret Wilson, Jarryd Coleman and Mathew.
Under 9 Blacks
The under 9s Blacks had a fantastic game against Springwood on Saturday showing great skills at an early age. Goals this week were scored by Kaden Griffiths, Eli Jansz, Toby Lawson, Corey Young, Drew Keen an James Pottinger. Player of the week went to Drew Keen.

The club is looking for expressions of interest for 2018, in all ages groups boys and girls, so interested players are encouraged to come down on a Tuesday or Thursday afternoon 4:30 onwards to Glen Logan park on Henderson Road Jimboomba to give a few training sessions a go.
