Things are really moving along nicely for the Logan Village Museum. The items which are being donated to the collection have been quite unusual.
There is now a meat press which would have been used for making a brawn.
We have also been given a flight helmet and life jacket which had been worn by an Australian Pilot during the whole of WW2. This is in amazing condition, and will be added to our collection of WW2 items on display.
We have a small grandfather clock which has been in the Hammel/Berndt family for over a century.
There are two cupi dolls which date to the 1940s along with a knitted gollywog.
These items all help to make a tour through the Museum memorable, as they bring back memories for many of the older folk who visit us. They also give the younger generation a chance to see what we used to help pass the time in an era before theirs.
The children’s bicycle display is now being housed in the Pioneer Hall, this collection has outgrown the childs bedroom where they have been housed for the past years.
We are all looking forward to the Country and Music Festival which will be held on the Logan Village Green on Sunday 10th September 9.00 top 4.00. This year we will be joined with a Car Show which will be held on the vacant land off Logan Street. All monies raised from the Car Show will be donated towards Bowel Cancer Research. Keep an eye out for more information on this day.
The Museum is open 7 days a week 9.00 to 12.00 with an entry fee of only $2.00. We are situated on River Road within the Logan Village Green complex.
The Doo Drop Inn (Craft Cottage) is nearby where many lovely craft items can be purchased.
