The south-west sub-branch of Australian War Widows Queensland met for a pink high tea in aid of Project Pink on July 19.
Project Pink has partnered with Stellarosso cafes across the nation to raise funds for breast cancer research.
More than 55 guests attended the sub-branch high tea at Park Ridge’s Stellarosso for fellowship and tea.
Sub-branch president Val Rooney said she hoped the widows and their guests could help raise $1000 for the research with their high tea.
“We know Stellarosso has a goal of $3000 for the month and we wanted to help them along," she said.
“I am absolutely thrilled to have so many guests here today, dressed especially in their pink attire.
“We’ve had so much support from local businesses to help us with our raffles and fundraising.”

Mrs Rooney said the sub-branch was always looking for new members to join them on their day trips and attend their meetings.
AWWQ CEO Sonja Gilchrist said younger war widows were also asked to join their local group to access services and advocacy programs.
“We realise that some of our younger members are time-poor however we would still like to see them represented,” she said.
The south-west sub-branch of AWWQ encompasses the area from south of Jimboomba to Moorooka.
They meet at Greenbank RSL on the first Friday of each month from 10am.
