The Thunder under 12s travelled to Southport on Saturday to take on the Tigers. An outstanding team effort helped the Thunder come away with a convincing 34-10 win.

Crunching defence right from the start set the platform early for the young Thunder team. 

Strong running from the forwards gave the halves time to work their magic and find space for the backs.

Halfback Corey Barnes won the man of the match for his defence and stepping up and guiding the team around. 

Tries went to Mathew Barrow (4), Luke Atwell (2) and Isaac Davis (1). Goals were kicked by Ryan O'Malley, Luke Atwell

Under 13s Division 3

The under 13s team demonstrated grit and teamwork against Burleigh but were defeated 22-4. Lochlyn Patterson scored the team’s try early on.

Jordan Tait and Bisbee Gleeson worked hard in attack while Mitch Savage’s was great in defence.

Lane Gilpin was awarded player of the match.

Other results: Men defeated Redlands 12-6, Women defeated Flagstone 38-20, under 16s defeated by Runaway Bay 28-12, under 14s defeated Robina 42-18.
