Speeding motorists are set for a shock on the Mount Lindesay Highway this week after a mobile speed camera was placed in Gleneagle.
The unit is targeting traffic travelling both north and south on the highway near the intersection of Tullamore Way.
Beaudesert police station officer in charge acting Senior Sergeant Andrew Robinson said the speed camera was being placed throughout the district.
“Coming into the development areas and the Beaudesert roadwork (from the north) I find that it would be a good reminder for people to slow down there,” he said.
“It is not a black spot for speeding per se, but we need motorists to be conscious about speed particularly in these zones.
“Speed will kill you and that needs to be on the agenda.
“During the school holidays we have travellers heading through on the highway for camping and time away from home so we need everyone to be committed to slowing down.”
