Jimboomba and District Cadets held their graduation parade and first birthday celebration on Sunday, June 18.
The cadets have worked hard in completing skills competencies in areas such as bush survival, codes of conduct and military based lessons.
President Mandy Arthurell said there had been lots of positive feedback about the graduation.
“We had about 14 cadets graduate at the event and there were a lot of emotional parents,” she said.
“We had a bagpiper there as well so that made it a very moving ceremony.”
Ms Arthurell said she was extremely proud of the cadets and their achievements.
“What we have achieved in the last 12 months,” she said.
“Starting our own cadets branch was tough, but I can’t give enough praise to our community of parents and their interest in the group.”
Ms Arthurell said the group were currently in a recruiting drive and would welcome any newcomers to join in.
The Jimboomba and District Cadets meet each Wednesday, except the school holidays, at 6pm on the Jimboomba State School grounds.
