The Ipswich Knights armour proved not strong enough when they came in to battle against the Logan Village Falcons under 14s on the weekend, with the Falcons emerging victorious 3-2.
In what was probably the most intense match so far this season for the Falcons, they were not about to leave the field with a loss and played with determination every minute of the game.
The Knights were first to score at the eighth minute, which was quickly followed by a counter goal at the 13th minute by Dylan Adams, getting the Falcons back on level pegging.
With a tight battle and a one-all scoreboard at half-time, the Falcons knew they had to step it up.
Dylan Adams and Timothy Angus scored the next two goals to take the lead and change the scoreboard to a 3-1 lead over the Knights.
At the 69th minute, Ipswich were able to score their second and final goal.
When a spot kick was awarded to the Knights after a penalty infringement by a Logan Village player, the Falcons goal keeper Jarrod Shoebridge saved the goal attempt and it was evident that this was the most impressive play of the day.
It was not only the goal the Knights did not score – despite numerous attempts - which was a credit to the Falcons defence.
It was also the reason Jarrod Shoebridge, the team’s star keeper, was proudly awarded player of the match for his efforts.
Jarrod Shoebridge was proudly awarded player of the match.
