Greater Western Sydney have confirmed star youngsters Josh Kelly and Jacob Hopper picked up injuries during training on Saturday, and will undergo medical assessments on Monday.
Kelly, one of the AFL's most sought after young talents, pulled up tight in the hip while Hopper has an ankle complaint.
Hopper was already on the Giants' injury list with a finger injury. That was expected to keep him out for one to two games.
The Giants described both incidents as minor and said medical assessments would determine whether the pair's chances of playing the Brisbane Lions in round 14 would be affected.
They will issue an update on the injuries on Monday.
The news is another blow to the Giants who have endured a torrid run with injury in 2017.
Going into their round 13 bye the Giants injury list included Brett Deledio (calf, TBC), Matt Buntine (knee, season), Adam Kennedy (knee, season), Stephen Coniglio (ankle, seven weeks), Phil Davis (ankle, test), Ryan Griffen (ankle, 11 weeks), Rory Lobb (groin, test) and Devon Smith (knee, three weeks).
Despite that long list the Giants sit second on the ladder with a 9-3 record. They sit behind Adelaide on percentage. Both are four points clear of third place Geelong.
