SCENIC Rim is set to host the PCQ State Dressage, Combined Training and Horse Trials Championships at the Beaudesert Showgrounds and Tamborine Pony Club next month.
Organising secretary Melinda Hughes said members of the local pony clubs at Tamborine, Greenbank, Jimboomba, Beaudesert and Rathdowney are eagerly looking forward to the event.
“Delegates from these clubs, have been involved in the planning of this major event in the pony club calendar,” she said.
Riders and their families will arrive on Friday June 30, with the majority of the 200 plus competitors camping at the Beaudesert Showgrounds.
“The State Dressage Championships will be held over the first two days with riders showing their skills with three tests ridden,” Ms Hughes said.
“Then the Combined Training Championships will be run with riders completing a dressage test and a showjumping round.
The dressage phase will be held at the showgrounds and the cross country and showjumping phases will be hosted by Tamborine Pony Club at their grounds.”
Entrants will travel from from as far north as Kuranda and as far south as northern New South Wales.
“Pony Club is the grass roots of equestrian, we would like to invite everyone to attend and see our best riders in action,” Ms Hughes said.
