It was glitz and glamour galore at the opening of the 15th annual Jimboomba Quota Art Show on June 16.
The art show is Quota International of Jimboomba’s largest fundraiser each year and allows the quotarians to disperse funds back into the community.
More than 100 people headed to Jimboomba Hall to celebrate including special guest opening artist Arabella Kajewski.
“I am honoured to be able to enter three pieces tonight and be asked by Quota to open the show,” she said.
“It is just remarkable the quality of work here tonight.”
President and art show coordinator Julie Newman was ecstatic with the 302 art entries and 34 craft entries in this year’s show.
“This makes it one of the largest art shows we have hosted here,” she said.
“We were really happy to see so many local artists support us as well as artists from afar.
“There is just so much art in Jimboomba and this allows people to showcase it.”
This year, Ms Newman had introduced two new sections, all abilities art and the students only photography section.
“We are really pleased to open the art show up for all,” she said.
“We had so many people comment about how they were delighted to see our new sections.”
Judges Angie Petersen, Donald James Waters, Jennifer Raumauf and Margaret Newman all remarked on the quality of works entered.
“There really is so many good works here,” Mr Waters said.
“Sometimes it is really tough to be a judge because you can’t give a prize to everyone.”
