Further assistance for Flood affected locals
Help is on its way to Logan country locals still suffering from the damage and destruction that came in the wake of the devastating flooding in March.
Demolition and rebuilding assistance is now available to locals whose houses were damaged by the recent flooding.
So many individuals and families in the local area were affected and they have not been forgotten.
This extra assistance will help our community get back on its feet as quickly as possible.
I encourage locals dealing with the aftermath of ex-Cyclone Debbie to apply for this and the range of other assistance currently available.
Information on disaster assistance available for this natural disaster can be found on the Australian Government’s Disaster Assist website at https://www.disasterassist.gov.au/ and the Queensland Government’s Disaster management website at https://www.disaster.qld.gov.au/.
More residential aged care places for locals
More local pensioners and retirees are set to receive the care and support they need, with the allocation of 170 residential aged care places in the local area under the Federal Government’s Aged Care Approvals Round.
Congratulations to Jimboomba Aged Care and Jimboomba Aged Care Plus who will provide respite services and care for dementia and metal health patients.
This is a great boost, creating a home away from home for elderly locals who need extra care.
More residential aged care places in our community means locals can get the care they require close to their families and in their hometown.
As always, if I can be of assistance with any Federal matter, please feel free to call my office on 5541 0150.
