Saturday the Park Ridge Pirates took on Alexandra Hills at home, grinding out a solid 103-73 victory.
The club chose to inject some more youth into the top grade with Hayden Forbes playing his first senior game.
For the second week we got off to a great start and were in front from start to finish Pirates, with Mitch Vasterink putting on a clinic in the ruck and in the air again giving first use to the Pirate midfield.
Jarred Brennen played his best game for the Pirates so far while Matt Derrick was unstoppable on the wing.
Up forward Flowers lead hard all day with Cherry and Martin assisting in tandem, kicking 10 between them
The backs were reliable as always lead by Tomlinson, Fletcher , Rookes and new-comer young gun Nate Colenso was judged best on field.
Best on ground were:N . Colenso, M. Vasterink, K. Rookes, J. Brennen and B. Tomlinson.
Reserves
This week the Park Ridge Pirates reserves had some seasoned players at their disposal which showed on the scoreboard.
The team battled hard all day but could not convert goals in much needed times. Two under 16s in Brandan Holamotu in his first game for the reserves won almost every tap in the ruck, as well as Ethan Clements who had his first run with the ressies, both players were terrific.
Under 15 Girls
The Pirates under 15s traveled all the way to Zillmere for an away game on Friday night. The team was fired up and ready for a win.
It was a fair game with both sides playing well but Park Ridge Pirates came out as clear winners beating Zillmere 14.10.94 to 0.2.2.
